Green Apples Advisory attended Manulife’s Xplore Career Carnival, where attendees heard from guest speaker Edwin Gan, who shared his personal journey of living with brain cancer. Diagnosed just three months before the birth of his first child, Edwin spoke candidly about the physical and emotional challenges he faced throughout his treatment, as well as the strength he drew from his wife and daughter.

Despite enduring severe pain and mounting medical bills that had reached $400,000 and counting, Edwin continued to persevere through the support of his family. He also shared how his insurance coverage helped ease the financial burden on his family during this difficult period.

His story offered a powerful reminder of the importance of financial preparedness. For financial consultants, it reinforced the responsibility to understand clients’ needs, identify potential coverage gaps and help families prepare for life's uncertainties.
